Battersea beer festival

I meet Peter & Jo for a drink and a catch-up near Clapham Junction.

Following a thoughtful invitation from Jo, I agree to meet her at Clapham Junction railway station at 2:00 pm. Once there we walk to BAC Grand Hall at Lavender Hill for the 23rd Battersea beer festival.

Jo begins to tell me about her allergy to alcohol sad and her consumption of anti-histamine tablets in an attempt to combat the problem. As we take our first sips of beer we both cross our fingers and joke that I have the phone number of her next of kin.

During the afternoon we play tombola and settle down for a chat. The Eagle Ale House is announced as the CAMRA SW London Pub of the Year for 2012 by the Mayor of Wandsworth, followed by the Sultan and the Bricklayer's Arms.

Due to work commitments, Peter can't make the afternoon session, so joins us at around 6:00 pm. We soon make up for lost time with various beers, Hunter's stew on the menu and a good chat.
