Day out in London

Bobet and I walk around central London as the Olympics come to a close.

We begin the day by walking towards Piccadilly Circus where we see members of the Household Cavalry riding down the street with a mounted police escort.

Close by we meet Bobet's friends Winchel, Schiela and George at Busaba Eathai restaurant in Panton Street for lunch, where Chicken butternut squash (cashew nut and dried chilli) with Jasmine rice and cola is on the menu.

After a quick stop at Tesco for water, snacks and an ice cream, we see a blue and white bubble car (Isetta) carrying a British flag as big as the car itself, as well as the now familiar official BMW London 2012 fleet cars.

We walk down to The Mall, the location of the men's marathon earlier the same day. From there we walk past Horse Guards Parade, the location of the beach volleyball earlier in the week.

Following a stop for photos on some refurbished London buses, we walk past Buckingham Palace into Green Park and on into Hyde Park and follow the crowds and the music of New Order followed by The Specials. As the evening begins to get cold we warm up with hotdogs and hot chocolate and settle down on the grass to listen to Blur.
