Life begins at 40 …apparently. I'll let you know how that goes.
The celebrations begin the weekend before with my parents visiting myself and Bobet for lunch at The Swan, a 17th century country pub by the river Thames in Pangbourne, where a Sunday roast is on the menu, with cheese cake or treacle tart for dessert.
On the day I invite my fellow developers Alex and Ian for a lunchtime drink of London Pride at The Counting House. In the evening Bobet and I go to Andrew Edmonds just off Oxford Street, where we enjoy a quiet three course meal of ham and melon, seared tuna steak with a bottle of white wine, followed by orange and almond tart with a glass of dessert wine.
On Thursday Lee takes me out for a few drinks and a Thai curry near Marylebone, where we discuss new jobs and the future. Friday I catch up with old workmates Clayton, Frances and Hamish for a gammon steak, a few real ales, with a lot of gossip and banter.
I feel a few more drinks coming on next week...
