Mark & family's UK visit

I meet up with Mark and his family over from Chicago to see the sights in London and Bath.

We begin by meeting at a tube station in London, where Diane meets one of her cousins. We then catch a tube to Potters Bar, where Mark and I leave Diane and kids with her family. Mark and I spend the rest of the evening in a hotel bar catching up on old times.

On Friday we head for the tube and London, where the ever-organised Diane has pre-booked tickets for the London Eye and takes us there like a local. We walk across the river to see the Houses Of Parliament. A short tube ride takes us to the Tower Of London to see the crown jewels and ravens. Mark and I abscond to a couple of local watering holes.

On Saturday we jump on the tube and then a train for Bath. We arrive at lunchtime so decide to have a bite to eat; Mark and I finally get our curry at an Indian restaurant overlooking Bath Abbey. After lunch we tour the Roman Baths for a couple of hours, look around the city, before finding the Jane Austen house. Mark and I squeeze in a quick drink before heading for the return train. In the evening we head back and have a take-away family meal, before turning in for the night.

The Following day we stop off at the famous Abbey Road Studios for a photo opportunity, before I see Mark and his family safely on a train at Paddington as they continue their holiday, and I head for home.

Anyone for a free burger?
